Mrs. Bertha Lee Adams Womack of Cornick Lane, Halifax died Aug. 2, 2013 at Wayland Dunn Nursing & Rehab Center in Keysville, at the age of 86.
Mrs. Womack was born in Halifax County on May 7, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Mr. David Adams and Mrs. Annie Belle Anderson Adams. She was married to the late Mr. Willie B. Womack and was a member of New Mt. Olive Apostolic Church.
She is survived, by her children, Ms. Geraldine Miller of Bridgeport, Conn., Ms. Cora Nancy Womack of South Boston, Ms. Helen Womack, Mr. Watt “Skeet” Womack, Ms. Barbara Womack and Mrs. Essie Griffin and husband David, all of Halifax, Mr. David Womack and wife Lillian of Lynch Station, and Mr. William Womack Jr. of Petersburg; 24 grandchild; 40 great-grandchildren; 25 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Lucille Barksdale of Bridgeport, Conn., Mrs. Elizabeth Fallen of Albany, N.Y. and Mrs. Frances Miller of south Boston; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, three children, James, William and Melvin Womack, preceded Mrs. Womack in death.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Lee Adams Womack will be held Thursday, Aug. 8, at 1 p.m. with services at New Mt. Olive Apostolic Church with Pastor Leonia Palmer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family is receiving friends at the residence, 1051 Cornick Lane, Halifax.
