Mr. Richard James Tucker of Danville died on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at the age of 62.
Mr. Tucker was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on July 30, 1951 to Mrs. Minnie Lovelace Duncan and the late Mr. James Tucker.
He was first married to Mrs. Yvette Rountree Tucker and later married Mrs. Leona George Tucker who preceded him in death.
Mr. Tucker was a United States Army Vietnam veteran.
He is survived by two daughters, Ms. Tazwiah Tucker of Blanch, N.C. and Mrs. Tanisha Tucker Hill and husband Christopher of Atlanta, Ga.; one son, Mr. Tivon L. Anthony of Richmond; two grandchildren, Ms. Aaliyah Tucker and Mr. Allen Richard Odom; his mother, Mrs. Minnie Lovelace Duncan, of South Boston; two sisters, Mrs. Dolores Lovelace McFadden of South Boston and Ms. Janice Johnston of Queens, N.Y.; one brother, Mr. David Duncan, and wife Michelle of Stone Mountain, Ga.; three nieces; four nephews; and a host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service for Mr. Richard James Tucker will be held Friday, Aug. 9, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home, South Boston. The family is receiving friends at the home of Mrs. Minnie Duncan, 1309 College Street, South Boston.
