William Warren Hazelwood of Baltimore, Md., formerly of Halifax County, died July 28, 2013 at his home. He was born in Halifax County on Feb. 24, 1968 and was 45 years of age. He is survived by his father, James Edward “Jim” Hazelwood, and was preceded in death by his mother, Cora Lee Powell Hazelwood.
Mr. Hazelwood attended Revelation Baptist Church.
In addition to his father of Halifax, survivors include his fiancé, Jean Marie Hooe, of Baltimore; one son, Justin David Hazelwood, of Clover; one sister, Janie Lavern Guill, and husband Wayne of Halifax; two brothers, James Thomas “Bumpsie” Hazelwood and wife Eva of Scottsburg and Jerry Lee Hazelwood and friend Margie Hernandez of Carney’s Point, N.J.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
One sister, Helen Jean Hazelwood, also preceded Mr. Hazelwood in death.
Funeral services will be held at Powell Funeral Home chapel Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jack Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in The Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery at Clover.
The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home on Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, from 7 until 8:30 p.m. and other times at the home of Janie and Wayne Guill, 1165 Sunnybrook Lane, Halifax.
