Pauline Thaxton Green, 89, of 1181 Old Cluster Springs Road, South Boston died Thursday, July 18, 2013, at her home. She was born in Halifax County on Sept. 5, 1923 to the late Killis Thaxton Sr. and Mary Conner Thaxton.
Mrs. Green attended Trinity Holiness Church and was a retired weaver with Burlington Industries.
Survivors include three sons, Ronnie Green, Harold Green and Michael Green, all of South Boston; one daughter, Rhonda Elliott of Virgilina; one brother, Killis Thaxton Jr. of South Boston; her grandsons, Tony Green, Jake Green, Michael Green Jr., Nicholas Elliott, Zackary Elliott and Jason Lloyd; one granddaughter, Jennie Rice; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, two sons, Kenneth and Carroll Green; one daughter, Deborah Lloyd; and one sister, Irene Crenshaw, also preceded Mrs. Green in death.
The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home on Saturday, July 20, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at the home of Michael Green, 1190 Old Cluster Springs Road, South Boston.
A memorial service for Mrs. Green will be held Sunday, July 21, at 3 p.m. at Trinity Holiness Church. The Rev. Steve Dyer will officiate.
