Mr. Robert Albert Jennings of Pine Height Trail, Halifax died on Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 70.
He was born in Pittsylvania County on Jan. 18, 1943 to the late Mr. John Wesley and Mrs. Mary Lee Womack Jennings.
Mr. Jennings is survived by his wife, Mrs. Gracie Edmondson Jennings, of the home; one son, Mr. Ronald Barksdale, of Halifax; one sister, Elder Barbara Graves, of Sutherlin; four brothers, Mr. Thurman Jennings of Baltimore, Md., Mr. John W. Jennings, Mr. Samuel E., Jennings and wife Safiyyah and Mr. Charlie H. Jennings and wife Faye, all of Trenton, N. J.; two brothers in law, Mr. James Edmondson and wife Nannie and Mr. Richard Edmondson; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Lillie M. Brown, and husband Lewis of Halifax; two aunts, Mrs. Flossie Stokes of Farmville and Mrs. Annie M. Kirby of Halifax; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, one brother, Pastor Walter M. Jennings, preceded Mr. Jennings in death.
Funeral services for Mr. Robert Albert Jennings will be held on Monday, July 15, at 1 p.m. at New Mt. Olive Apostolic Church with Suffragan Bishop Leonia Palmer. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Public viewing for family and friends was held Sunday, July 14, from noon until 6 p.m. The family is receiving friends at 1120 Pine Height Trail, Halifax.
