Robert “Bobby” Lee Clements of Ardmore, Okla., formerly of Halifax County, died June 29, 2013 at the age of 57 in Oklahoma City Hospital.
Mr. Clements was born in Halifax County on Dec. 20, 1955 to the late Joseph Venable and Rosa L. Clements Thaxton. He was married to Shelby Jeanette Loyd Clements and was a United States Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife of the home; children, Shannon D. Marti and wife Stephanie of Stillwater, Okla., Sclyna W. Martin of Killeen, Texas, Robbie Clements of Moore, Okla., Monique Brown of Edmond, Okla., Jakob Trussell of Fort Walton Beach, Fla. And Antuinette Dethrow and husband Charleton of Chattanooga, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; two brothers, Jerry Clements of Danville and Charles Venable and wife of Concord, S.C.; one sister-in-law; four brothers-in-law; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Clements will be Saturday, July 13, at 10 a.m. at Good Shepherd of Christ Church with Elder Jasper Pounds and Mr. Ronald D. Loyd officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post 99.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home and all other times at the home of Mrs. Elise White, 1017 Joe Jackson Trail, Halifax.
