Buster Oliver Edmonds, 92, of Nathalie passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Agnes Minix Edmonds.
Mr. Edmonds was born in Halifax County, August 24, 1920 a son of the late James Oliver Edmonds and Annie Tucker Edmonds. He was a member of Clover Bottom Baptist Church, a U. S. Army Veteran of WW II, retired owner of B. O. Edmonds Electric, Plumbing and Heating Co. and a farmer.
He is survived by two sons, David M. Edmonds of Danville (special friend Pam Tucker), and Daniel J. Edmonds (Sylvia) of Nathalie; one daughter, Charlotte E. Carter of South Boston; five grandchildren, Donna Garland (Bill) of Red Oak, Steven Carter (Mary) of Nathalie, Billy Carter (Kristi) of Goode, Marsha Layne of Nathalie, Tina Wagstaff (Bruce) of Halifax; six great-grandchildren, Brandon Garland, Taylor Garland, Julia Carter, Mariah Molina, Ahmed Hashad, and Marianna Layne. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Owen, Buford, Wilson, Hurley and Thomas Edmonds; and three sisters, Doris Hall, Mildred Conner and Frances Nanney.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Clover Bottom Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr. Charles O’Roark with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Masonic and veterans rites will be performed at the grave.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
