Mr. Beverley Junious Davis Jr. of Hodges Street, Nathalie died Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 74.
Mr. Davis was born in Halifax County on July 23, 1938 and was the son of the late Mr. Beverley Junious Davis Sr. and Mrs. Maude Johnson Davis. He was married to the late Mrs. Willie Earman Coles Davis and served on the board of deacons at Pleasant Grove Baptist.
Survivors include one daughter, Ms. Tonya Davis, of Nathalie; four sisters, Mrs. Dorothy M. Ross, Mrs. Martha A. West and Mrs. Helen Womack, all of Baltimore, Md., and Mrs. Nannie M. Jackson of Nathalie; one brother, Mr. McKinley ‘Kenny’ Davis, of Baltimore; one granddaughter, Ms. Caryn Davis, of Nathalie; five brothers-in-law; five sisters-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Jeanette Acree and Mrs. Reanette Barnett; and one brother, Mr. Harold Davis.
Funeral services for Mr. Davis will be held Tuesday, June 25, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Ronald Claiborne officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family is receiving friends at the residence of Mrs. Nannie M. Jackson, 1029 Quarles School Trail, Nathalie.
Public viewing for family and friends will be Monday, June 24, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at The Crawford House chapel in Halifax.
