Mrs. Frances Shepard Sneed of Halifax died Monday, June 3, 2013, at the Envoy of Forest Hill in Richmond. She was born in Chase City on March 9, 1926, and was 87 years old. She was the daughter of the late George Fulton Shepard and the late Annie Laurie Edmonds Shepard and married to the late Arthur E. Sneed.
Mrs. Sneed was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, June Angela S. Foster of Halifax and Linda Sneed Schneider of Chesterfield; three sons, Arthur Eugene ‘Chip’ Sneed and Mark Shepard Sneed, both of Chesterfield, and John Cully Sneed of Charlotte Church; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Gladys Black of Suffolk.
One son, Stephen Michael Sneed; one sister, Laura Shepard Hoyle; and one brother, George Fulton Shepard, also preceded Mrs. Sneed in death.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 7, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ with the Revs. Buddy Rose and Jerry Adams and the Rev. Myers officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
