Ms. Precious Monae Hodges of South Boston died Monday, May 13, 2013, at MCV Hospital in Richmond at the age of 16.
Ms. Hodges was born in Halifax County on April 27, 1997 to Mr. Ronnie Hodges and Ms. Delores Terry. She was a ninth grade student at Halifax County High School and attended New Mt. Olive Apostolic Church and Berry Hill Baptist Church.
In addition to her father and mother, survivors include two sisters, Ms. Shenique Terry and Ms. Rita Terry, both of South Boston; one brother, Mr. Nathaniel Terry of South Boston; her grandparents, Mrs. Cary Hodges of South Boston and Mr. Gene and Arnitha Terry of Halifax; two nieces, Ms. Zariah Gomes and Ms. Damiah Womack; two nephews, Mr. Jaylan Terry and Mr. Jamaryon Terry; four aunts, Ms. Susie Hodges of South Boston, Ms. Mary Hodges of Petersburg, Ms. Carolyn Burden of South Boston and Ms. Nancy Doomes of Halifax; four uncles, Mr. Hoard Hodges Jr. of Copperas Cove, Texas, Mr. Kenneth Hodges and wife Mary of South Boston, Elder William Terry and wife Debra and Mr. James Terry, all of Halifax; a host of cousins, including the devoted Ms. ZaTayla Harris, of South Boston; other relatives and friends, including the devoted Ms. Jenita Jordan.
Funeral services for Ms. Hodges will be Saturday, May 18, at 1 p.m. at Berry Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family is receiving friends at the home of Mrs. Cary Hodges, 1158 River Road, South Boston. Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
