Mrs. Alease Williams Carden of Pine Trail, Halifax died Saturday, April 27, 2013, at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 61.
Mrs. Carden was born in Halifax County on April 16, 1952 and was the daughter of the late Mr. Thomas Rudolph Williams and Mrs. Beatrice Tucker Williams. She was married to Mr. Cliffer Theodore Carden and was a member of Mount Pleasant C.M.E. Church.
Mrs. Alease Williams Carden is survived by her husband, Mr. Cliffer T. Carden, of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Keshia Pettus Farris and husband Chris of Charlotte, N.C., and Mrs. Kim Dixon and husband Lonnie of South Boston; two sons, Mr. Lewis T. Pettus III of Halifax and Mr. Shawn Carden and wife Micka of Virginia Beach; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ms. Catherine Williams and Mrs. Grady Chandler and husband Adolph, all of Halifax, and the Rev. Joyce McKinnon of South Boston; three brothers, Mr. Herbert Williams of Columbus, Ohio, Mr. Thomas Rudolph Williams Jr. of Inwood, N.Y. and Mr. Odell Williams and wife Elsie of South Boston; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including the devoted Mrs. Denise Fallen, Mrs. Delois Logan, Mrs. Caroline Williams, Mrs. Margaret Dixon and Mrs. Stella Coles.
Funeral services for Mrs. Alease Williams Carden will be held Wednesday, May 1, at 11 a.m. with services at Mt. Pleasant C.M.E. Church with the Rev. Evon Bush officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family is receiving friends at the residence, 1026 Pine Trail in Halifax. In lieu of flowers, consider monetary donations to the family.
