Mr. Jessie James Cousins of Neals Corner Road, Clover died April 24, 2013 at Lynchburg General Hospital at the age of 94.
Mr. Cousins was born in Halifax County on Aug. 23, 1918 to the late Mr. William Riley Cousins and Mrs. Mildred Collins Cousins. He was married to Mrs. Bettie Jane Wilborne Cousins and was a member of Bethel Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Cousins was a World War II Navy veteran.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Queen Dismuke of Clover, Mrs. Catherine Greene of Nathalie and Mrs. Gladys Fleming of Richmond; two sons, Mr. Jessie E. Cousins of Clover and Mr. Ricky G. Cousins of Nathalie; 12 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Daisy Chandler of South Boston; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, two grandchildren; two brothers; and five sisters, also preceded Mr. Cousins in death.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 27, at 11 a.m. at Bethel Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Marvin Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family is receiving friends at the residence.
