Mr. James Henry Lacks of Mt. Laurel Road, Clover died April 14, 2013 at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 79.
Mr. Lacks was born in Halifax County on Feb. 8, 1934, and was the son of the late Mr. Horace Lacks and Mrs. Amanda Mitchell Lacks. He was married to Mrs. Maryann Elizabeth Renkel Lacks and was a member of St. Matthew Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Ms. Carolyn Robinson of Cherry Hill, N.J. and Ms. Barbara Moore and husband Norman of North Plainfield, N.J.; three brothers, Mr. Lindwood Wayne Lacks and wife Betty of Plainfield, Mr. Berkeley L. Lacks and wife Carlessa of Schenectady, N.Y. and Mr. James Kevin Lacks of Plainfield; his half-sister, Ms. Donna Lacks of Queens, N.Y.; two step-daughters, Ms. Barbara Delgyer of Clover and Ms. Robin M. Jackson of South River, N.J.; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends, including the devoted Rev. and Mrs. Morris and Lorraine Mitchell of Clover.
Funeral services for Mr. Lacks will be Friday, April 19, at 1 p.m. at St. Matthew Baptist Church with the Rev. Alfred Chandler officiating. Burial will follow in the family cemetery.
The family will be receiving friends at the residence, 1139 Mt. Laurel Road, Clover.
