Mr. James Douglas Wyatt, affectionately known as “Jee,” of Halifax died March 23, 2013 at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 60.
Mr. Wyatt was born in Halifax County on Oct. 20, 1952 and was the son of the late Mr. James Wyatt and Mrs. Olivia Scott Wyatt.
He was married to Mrs. Delois Logan Wyatt and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Mr. Wyatt was employed by Harmon Saunders Construction Company.
Mr. Wyatt is survived by his wife, Mrs. Delois Wyatt; one daughter, Ms. Adrennie Darlene Logan; his devoted granddaughter, Ms. Ashley Nichole Logan, all of Halifax; four sisters, Ms. Sarah Wyatt of Manhattan, N.Y., Mrs. Catherine Lewis of East Hartford, Conn., Ms. Portia Wyatt of St. Micheals, Md. and Mrs. Gayle Sydnor and husband Ronnie of Nathalie; two brothers, Mr. Marshall Scott of South Boston and Mr. John A. Scott and wife Faye of Bloomfield, Conn.; a half brother, Mr. Tyrone Harris, of South Boston; two sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wyatt was preceded in death by his godmother, Mrs. Jane Owen.
Funeral services for Mr. James Douglas Wyatt will be held Saturday, March 30, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Elder Brandon Smith and Elder Larry Burrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Garden Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the chapel of Jeffress Funeral Home on Friday from 7 until 8 p.m. and at all other times at the residence, 5233 Mountain Road, Halifax.
