Mr. Jeffery Leroy Sydnor, formerly of Halifax County, died Friday, March 8, 2013, in Shoreline, Wash. at the age of 55.
Mr. Sydnor was born in Halifax County on Sept. 26, 1957 to Mrs. Charlotte Louise Tune Sydnor and the late Mr. James Harold Sydnor. He was employed with the United States Postal Service and was a United States Army veteran.
In addition to his mother of Halifax, survivors include one daughter, Ms. Tamekia Coles of South Boston; one son, Mr. Jimmy Ray Sydnor of Seattle, Wash.; three sisters, Mrs. Emma S. Foster and Ms. Stephanie L. Sydnor, both of Halifax, and Mrs. Sandy L. Frazier of Columbia, S.C.; six brothers, Mr. Harold Sydnor, Mr. James Lawrence Sydnor, Mr. Christopher Sydnor, Mr. Welford McConnell Sydnor and Mr. Tony Alvin Sydnor, all of Halifax, and Mr. Jerome Sydnor of Oxon Hill, Md.; his devoted friend, Ms. Zeny Moraleja of Mount Lake Terrance, Wash.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Sydnor will be held Saturday, March 16, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Banister Hill Baptist Church in Halifax. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites.
The family will receive friends at the residence of Mrs. Charlotte Louise Sydnor, 1008 Gatha’s Trail, Halifax. Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday from noon until 8 p.m. at The Crawford House chapel in Halifax.
