Mr. Patrick Henry Davis of 1307 Bayonne Avenue, South Boston died Wednesday, March 6, at his residence at the age of 74.
Mr. Davis was born in Roanoke Rapids, N.C. on Sept. 18, 1938 to the late Mr. William Henry Davis and Mrs. Mary Helen Thornton Davis. He was married to Mrs. Deloris Snoddy Davis and was a member of Banister Hill Baptist Church.
Mr. Davis was a U. S. Army veteran and retired from the Halifax County Public School system after teaching for 36 years.
Mr. Davis is survived by his wife, Mrs. Deloris Snoddy Davis, of the home; one daughter, Ms. Latonya Davis, of Inman, S.C.; one adoptive daughter, Ms. Sonya Brewton, of Boiling Spring, S.C.; one granddaughter, Shania Browning, of Inman, S.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary D. Faulcon of Lima, Ohio and Mrs. Susie Jackson of Roanoke Rapids, N.C.; one brother, Mr. Paul T. Davis, of Charlotte, N.C.; one aunt, Ms. Vashti Davis, of Baltimore, Md.; nine sisters-in-law, Mrs. Willie Mae Anderson, Mrs. Onie Ferguson, Mrs. Texie Snoddy Long and Mrs. Jeanette Tanner, all of Inman, S.C., Mrs. Elizabeth Moore of Alexandria, Mrs. Ernestine Davis-Taylor of Raleigh, N.C., Mrs. Eloise Staley of North Carolina and Mrs. Lillie Bell Davis of Charlotte, N.C.; two brothers-in-law, Mr. Joseph Faulcon of Lima, Ohio and Mr. Jerome Fuller of Grambling, S.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Davis was preceded in death by two brothers, Mr. Haywood Davis and Mr. Louis Davis.
Funeral services for Mr. Patrick H. Davis will be held Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at 1 p.m. with services at Banister Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. William F. Carr officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites.
The family will receive friends at the chapel of Jeffress Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, from 7 until 8 p.m.
