Ms. Lottie Mae Guthrie of Sinai Road, South Boston died March 2, 2013 at Berry Hill Nursing Home at the age of 89.
Ms. Guthrie was born in Halifax County on May 22, 1923 and was the daughter of the late Mr. Samuel Guthrie and Mrs. Mary Frances Vassar Guthrie. She was a member of Berry Hill Baptist Church.
Ms. Lottie Mae Guthrie is survived by one son, Mr. Albert Wallace “Jimmy” Guthrie, of South Boston; two granddaughters, Ms. Kim Guthrie of Danville and Ms. Tammy Guthrie of South Boston; two great granddaughters, Ms. Chaquetta Guthrie and Ms. Cameelah Guthrie; one sister, Mrs. Lillian G. Clark; and host of nieces and nephews including the devoted, Ms. Vernesta Guthrie, Mr. Robert “Peter” Guthrie, Mr. William Guthrie and wife Laura and Mr. Larry Guthrie; and many other caring friends and relatives including her devoted caregivers, Ms. Ernestine Johnson, Ms. Mary Logan and Ms. Lucinda Williams.
Funeral services for Ms. Lottie Mae Guthrie will be held Wednesday, March 6, at 1 p.m. with services at Berry Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronnie Haynes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family is receiving friends at the home of her son, Mr. Albert “Jimmy” Guthrie, 105 Greenfield Road, South Boston.
