Mrs. Georgeanna Coleman Eargle of Howard P. Anderson Hwy., Halifax died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at The Woodview at the age of 77.
Mrs. Eargle was born in Halifax County on June 3, 1935 to Mrs. Laura Mitchell Coleman and the late Mr. Howard Coleman. She was married to Mr. David Eargle and was a member of Spanish Grove Baptist Church in Scottsburg.
Survivors in addition to her husband include one daughter, Mrs. Betty Acre of Nathalie; two stepchildren, Ms. Debra Samuels of North Carolina and Mr. David Eargle of New York; her mother of Halifax; two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Lucille Toone of Chatham and Mrs. Mable Lovelace of Halifax; four brothers, Mr. James Coleman, Mr. Henry Coleman and Mr. Richard Coleman, all of Halifax, and Mr. Charlie Coleman of Md.; one brother-in-law, Mr. Herbert Toone; four sisters-in-law, Mrs. Ruby Coleman, Mrs. Frances Coleman, Mrs. Jackie Coleman and Mrs. Dorothy Westley; and a host of other relatives and friends.
One brother, Dwight Coleman, also preceded Mrs. Eargle in death.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 28, at 2 p.m. at Spanish Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronnie Womack officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Public viewing will be at the church Thursday beginning at noon.
The family is receiving friends at the home of her sister, Mrs. Mable Lovelace, at 435 North Main Street, Halifax.
