Trevant Tieayon Donesha Coleman of Harris Drive, South Boston died Feb. 16, 2013 at Halifax Regional Hospital at 9 years of age.
He was born in Roxboro, N.C. on March 3, 2003 and was the son of Ms. Adrean L. Coleman and Mr. Desmond Olds. Trevant was a fourth-grade student at South Boston Elementary School and a member of New St. Luke Apostolic Church.
In addition to his parents, Trevant is survived by two brothers, Desmond Olds Jr. of Statesville, N.C. and Darius Hamlett of South Boston; three sisters, Yasmine Olds of Statesville, N.C., Keirra T. Hamlett and Kendra S. Hamlett, both of South Boston; his grandparents, Ms. Marcia Richmond of Roxboro and Mr. Sylvester Royster of Burlington, N.C., Mr. and Mrs. Mack and Pearline Harris of Statesville; his great-grandparents, Ms. Lorraine Royster and Ms. Stella Harris, both of Roxboro, and the very devoted Mrs. Gladys Smith of South Boston, who helped raise him; his great-great-grandmother, Ms. Ruth Hamlett of Roxboro; his godmother, Ms. Monica Betts of South Boston; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at Grace Baptist Church, Buckshoal Road, Virgilina with Elder Harry J. Betts officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Jeffress Funeral Home chapel Friday from 6 until 7 p.m. and other times at the home, 1006 Harris Drive, Apt. 113, South Boston.
