Margaret Tuck Hunt, 78, of Nathalie passed away Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Brookneal. She was the wife of Joel Winfree Hunt for 61 years.
Mrs. Hunt was born in Halifax County on July 16, 1934 a daughter of the late Loyd Fenton Tuck and Gladys Coleman Tuck. She was a member of Childrey Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Bryant W. Hunt (Treva) of Halifax and Bruce A. Hunt (Vaneta) of Brookneal; one daughter, Teresa H. Ranson (Kevin), of Nathalie; one daughter-in-law Debra B. Hunt, of Brookneal; eight grandchildren, Brandy H. Wilson (Jason) of Gladys, Niki H. Stinde (Mark) of McKinney, Texas, Olivia Hunt and fiancée Chad Wisecarver of Lynchburg, Dana Hunt of Halifax, Alexandra Hunt of Brookneal, Julianna Ranson, Michaela Ranson and Alayna Ranson, all of Nathalie; three great-grandchildren, Jackson and Jordyn Wilson and Conner Stinde; one brother, Mack Tuck (Linda), of Nathalie; one sister, Hilda Dalton, of Lynchburg; sister-in-law Linda O. Tuck of Lynchburg; special friends Patsy Gilliland and Louis and Jo Compton.
She was preceded in death by a son, Randy J. Hunt; a grandson, Tyler W. Hunt; two brothers, Ronnie C. Tuck and Aubrey M. Tuck.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at Childrey Baptist Church by the Rev. Jerry Stanfield with interment to follow in the church cemetery.
The family received friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at Henderson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Brookneal and at the residence of her daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Kevin Ranson, on State Shed Road in Nathalie other times.
