Mrs. Audrey Moorefield Culley of South Boston died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at Halifax Regional Hospital. She was born in Halifax County on March 23, 1935 and was 77 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Jesse James Moorefield and Katie Buntin Moorefield Snead and was married to the late Allen Mason Culley.
Mrs. Culley was of the Baptist Faith and a retired textile worker with Burlington Industries in Halifax.
Survivors include three daughters, Dolores Lloyd and husband Bobby, Ronni Culley and Denise Culley, all of South Boston; one grandson, Brian Throckmorton of Scottsburg; one sister, Polly Covington and husband C.D. of Alton; and two brothers, Robert Moorefield and wife Doris of Scottsburg and Alton ‘Sonny’ Snead of South Boston.
In addition to her parents and husband, two brothers, Joe and Jesse Moorefield; and one sister, Thelma Powell, also preceded Mrs. Culley in death.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home chapel with the Pastor Dane Skelton and the Pastor Russell Terry officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home Saturday from 7 until 8:30 p.m. and other times at her home, 1216 Ratliff Drive (Seven Oaks), South Boston.
