Mr. Dennis Magood Chalmers of River Road, South Boston died Tuesday, Jan. 22, at his residence at the age of 60.
Mr. Chalmers was born in Bronx, New York on Feb. 19, 1952 and was the son of Mrs. Bonnie Coles Chalmers and the late Mr. John Magood Chalmers. He was a member of Berry Hill Baptist Church.
Mr. Chalmers is survived by his mother of South Boston; three sons, Mr. Kenya Chalmers of Baltimore, Md., Mr. Omar Chalmers of New York City, N.Y. and Mr. Ravon Chalmers of Passaic, N.J.; one granddaughter, Kyrie Chalmers; two sisters, Mrs. Sheila Chalmers-Clark and husband William of Ft. Washington, Md. and Mrs. Bonnie Caldwell and husband Victor of Liberty, N.C.; two brothers, Mr. Gregory Chalmers and Mr. Aaron Roberts, both of Halifax; two aunts, Mrs. Nettie Chalmers of Passaic, N.J. and the devoted Mrs. Carrie Hodges of South Boston; two uncles, the devoted Mr. Ulysses Reed and wife Catherine of South Boston and Mr. Clarence Chalmers and wife Agatha, of Pasaic, N.J. and Mr. Elmer Evans of Philadelphia, Pa.; one devoted cousin and friend, Ms. Jackee Reed; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In additions to his father, Mr. Chalmers was preceded in death by one brother, Mr. John Chalmers.
Funeral services for Mr. Chalmers will be held Monday, Jan. 28, at 11 a.m. at Berry Hill Baptist Church in South Boston. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family is receiving friends at the home of Mrs. Cary Hodges, 1158 River Road, South Boston.
