Roger Wayne Francisco of 1005 Rickman Lane, Nathalie passed away Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 63.
Mr. Francisco was born in Halifax County on June 27, 1949 to the late Roger E. Francisco and the late Doris Rickman Francisco. He was married to Rebecca Wilson Francisco, who survives.
Mr. Francisco was an inmate foreman with Virginia Department of Transportation and a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran.
He was a member of Hunting Creek Baptist Church and American Legion Post 8 where he served as a member of the Honor Guard.
Roger Wayne Francisco is survived by his wife, Rebecca Wilson Francisco, of Nathalie; three sisters, Joyce F. Ratliff of South Boston, Faye F. Glover of Powhatan and Phyllis F. Brooks and husband Charles of Richmond; one brother, Grady V. Francisco and wife Dale of Nathalie; a special aunt, Cleo Anderson; a special niece, Pam Paynter; a number of nieces and nephews; and great-nieces, Taylor and Madison Barnes.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Minnie Rickman and John and Mattie Francisco.
Funeral services for Mr. Francisco were held Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Hunting Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Lee Cooper and Raymond Wooten officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Family received friends Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Home and at other times at the home, 1005 Rickman Lane in Nathalie.
