Alfred J. “Bud” Tyler, 74, of Richmond passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2012, after a brave battle with cancer. He died peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Jo; his son, Mark; daughter-in-law, Donna; granddaughters, Caroline and Sydney; sister-in-law, Julia Hutcherson; and many nieces, nephews and good friends.
Bud’s spirit will shine on through his passions in life: his deep love for family and friends, the granddaughters’ athletics, family vacations in the Outer Banks, William and Mary football, jazz and his love of dogs.
The family will receive friends at Bliley’s-Central, 3801 Augusta Avenue, Richmond on Sunday, April 15, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
The funeral service will be held Monday, April 16, at 11 a.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 520 N. Boulevard. Interment will be in Westhampton Memorial Park.
A reception at St. Mark’s will follow the interment.
