Mrs. Mattie G. Easley Logan of Beulah Road, Nathalie died Sunday, Dec. 9, at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 94.
Mrs. Logan was born in Halifax County on July 10, 1918 to the late Mr. Holt Easley and Mrs. Anna Leigh Easley. She was married to the late Mr. Herbert Dee Logan and was a member of New Zion Baptist Church.
Mrs. Logan is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Anna Rone and husband Jesse of Nathalie, Mrs. Percilla Yates of Norfolk, Mrs. Joyce Powell and husband Gil of Midlothian, Mrs. Cynthia Ferrell and husband Michael and Mrs. JoAnne Brooks and husband Garfield, all of Richmond; five sons, Mr. Lloyd Logan and wife LeAnne of Upper Marlboro, Md., Mr. Herbert Logan and wife Stella of El Paso, Texas, Mr. Alexander Logan and wife Jeanette of Nathalie, and Mr. Kenneth Logan and wife Renay of Richmond; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Inez Hartridge of Germantown, Md. and Mrs. Lou Fannie Bailey of South Boston; two brothers, Mr. Richard Thomas Easley and wife Louise of Philadelphia, Pa. and Mr. Joe H. Easley of Mt. Ranier, Md.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Logan was preceded in death by two daughters, Mrs. Equilla Lakes and Mrs. Deborah Edmonds; eight sisters, Mrs. Juanita Marshall, Mrs. Elma Mason, Mrs. Charlene Hartridge, Mrs. Norma Jean Hunter, Mrs. Arlene Royster, Mrs. Marjorie Easley, Mrs. Adelle Butler, and Mrs. JoAnne Hendricks; and three brothers, Mr. James Easley, Mr. Willie Holt Easley and Mr. Frank Easley.
Funeral services for Mrs. Logan will be Thursday, Dec. 13, at 11 a.m. at New Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie N. Yancey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family is receiving friends at the residence, 1086 Beulah Road, Nathalie.
