Teresa Smith Pool of South Boston died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at her home.
She was born in Whiteville, N.C. on Sept. 30, 1960 and was 52 years of age.
She was the daughter of the late Joe Thomas Smith Jr. and Marilyn Hinson Smith, who survives. She also is survived by her husband, Richard ‘Ricky” Hartley Pool.
Teresa Smith Pool was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church, the Halifax Country Club and was founder of the Vision Pool, a charitable foundation for eye research.
Mrs. Pool is survived by her husband, Ricky Pool, of South Boston; her mother, Marilyn Hinson Smith, of Whiteville, N.C.; four sisters,Kay Barnes and husband Ricky of Lumberton, N.C., Dianne Smith, Jo Lynn Smith, Mary Kate Batten and husband Chris, all of Whiteville, N.C.; six nephews and seven nieces.
Funeral services for Mrs. Teresa Smith Pool will be held at Shady Grove United Methodist Church, Wednesday, Dec.12, 2012, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. George Gorman officiating. Entombment will follow Thursday at 11 a.m. in Columbus Memorial Park, Whiteville, N.C. with arrangements by Peacock Funeral Home.
