Muriel Wynette Conner Nichols, 90, of 355 Shady Grove Road, Martinsville died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012.
She was born in Halifax County on March 5, 1922 the daughter of the late Charlie Whitfield Conner and Elender Ligon Conner and was married to the late Walter Wilson Nichols.
Mrs. Nichols was a member of Dan River Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Wells, and husband Ernest C. Wells III of Martinsville; two sisters, Elizabeth Conner Wilborn of South Boston and Mildred Conner Rickman of Richmond; three grandsons, Anthony Shane Perry of Martinsville, John Creighton Perry of Roanoke and Joshua Louis Wells of Hardy; one granddaughter, Alya Wells Shelton, of Phoenix, Ariz.; and her great-grandchildren, Caiden Perry, Austin Perry and Landon Wells.
In addition to her parents and husband, her brothers, Curtis, Clarence Edward and Ernest Hagood Conner, and her sisters, Gladys Conner Austin and Lillian Conner Roller, also preceded Mrs. Nichols in death.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Dan River Baptist Church cemetery. The Rev. Doug Gibson will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday evening, Dec. 10, 2012, at her home, 1195 Wolf Trap Road, South Boston, and at Dan River Baptist Church on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, from 1 to 2 p.m.
