Mrs. Lennie Mae Guill Brown of Halifax died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at South Boston Manor. She was born in Halifax County, January 29, 1927 and was 85 years of age. She was the daughter of the late James Walter Guill and Eva Martin Guill and was preceded in death by her husband Maynard Lee Brown.
Mrs. Brown was a member of Beth Car Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Kenneth M. Brown and wife Jean of Clarksville, Terry L. Brown and wife Susan of Archdale, N.C.; two grandsons, Kevin Brown, Keith Brown and wife Amy; one granddaughter, Karen Brown, four great-grandsons, Simon, Liam, Sayer and Levi; three nieces, Donna Garber Lewis, Carol Brown Harding and Patsy Brown Gravitt; six nephews, Jimmy Garber, Wayne Garber, Phil Brown, Mike Brown, Larry Jennings and Tommy Jennings; special friends, Mildred Womack, Vivian Garber, Sandra Chandler, Linda Moore, Indira Wood, Marsha Wood, Maryam Scott and Yolanda Davis. Her sister Mildred G. Garber preceded her in death.
Funeral services for Mrs. Brown were held Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Michael Parnell officiating. Burial followed in Halifax Memorial Gardens.
The family received friends at Powell Funeral Home for one hour prior to the service and other times at her home, 2005 Mountain Road, Halifax.
