Mr. William James Torian of Alderson Avenue, South Boston died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at his residence at the age of 60.
Mr. Torian was born in Halifax County on Aug. 28, 1952 to Mrs. Mary Morris Torian and the late Mr. John Lonnie Torian. He received his formal education in the public schools of Newark, N.J.
In addition to his mother of South Boston, survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Edith Barksdale of St. Louis, Mo., Ms. Shelia Torian and Mrs. Najah Wakleehan, both of South Boston, and Ms. Hallie Torian of East Orange, N.J.; two brothers, Mr. John Torian and wife Virginia of South Boston and Mr. Thomas Torian of Irvington, N.J.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Torian will be held Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at 1 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home in South Boston. The Revs. Samuel Barksdale and George Gorman will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
The family is receiving friends at the home of Ms. Shelia Torian, 1911 Alderson Avenue, South Boston. Public viewing for friends will be one hour prior to the service.
