Mrs. Eva Doris Mae Roberts of Albany, N.Y., formerly of Clover, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at the age of 77.
Mrs. Roberts was born in Clover on Dec. 30, 1935 to the late Mr. Charles Spurgeon Edmondson and the late Mrs. Marion Coleman Irby. She was married to the late Mr. Charlie Roberts Sr. and before retiring was employed with Albany Medical Center Hospital.
Survivors of Mrs. Roberts are two daughters, Mrs. Vanessa Williams and husband James Morton Williams and Mrs. Consoula Darling and husband Herbert; two sons, Mr. Charlie Roberts Jr., and Mr. Alvin Roberts and wife Olivia, all of Albany; her stepfather, Mr. Thomas O. Irby of Brooklyn, N.Y.; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Five daughters, twins-Mary and Martha Roberts, Carrie Roberts, Delois Coles and Helen Smith; her stepson, William Carrington; and a great-granddaughter, Fayleano Smith, also preceded Mrs. Roberts in death.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1245 Rodgers Chapel Road, Clover. The Rev. Marvin Bowman will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
