Ms. Kimberly Chafin Harris, 53, of 1228 Horseshoe Trail, Alton died Sept. 24, 2012 at Halifax Regional Hospital. She was born in Lexington, Ky. on July 13, 1959 to the late Walter Kerry Chafin and Marie Puryear Chafin.
Ms. Harris was a bartender/waitress.
Survivors include one daughter, Starlynn Marie Dunevant of Roxboro, N.C.; one son, Johnathan Kerry Harris, of Roxboro; one sister, Tina Chafin McDowell of Alton; one brother, Mark Kerry Chafin of Kentucky; one grandson, Tyler James Dunevant of Roxboro; two nieces, Christy McDowell Elliott and husband Ben of Virgilina and Candice Johnson; one nephew, Chris Keith McDowell and wife Starr of South Boston; two special friends, Wayne Hite and Jerry Harris, both of Roxboro; six great nieces; one great nephew; and many special cousins.
One sister, Cindy Sue Lowery, and her son-in-law, Kevin James Dunevant, also preceded Ms. Harris in death.
A service will be held at Brooks Funeral Home chapel Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, at 7:30 p.m. The Rev. Dave Berry will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home Thursday evening from 7 until 7:30, and other times at the home of Tina McDowell, 1228 Horseshoe Trail, Alton.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the doctors and staff at VCU and also Dr. Neil Schacht for their special loving care given during her illness.
