Dollie Weatherford Richardson

 Mrs. Dollie Weatherford Richardson of Halifax died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at The Woodview. 

She was born in Halifax County, April 7, 1929 and was 83 years of age. 

She was the daughter of the late Luther Coleman Weatherford and Nettie Marshall Weatherford.

 She farmed for 20 years and was a devoted mother and homemaker.  She was married to James William Richardson who preceded her in death. A daughter, Nancy Weatherford Blanks Jerrells, also preceded her in death.

 Mrs. Richardson is survived by three sisters, Lottie Farmer, Helen Mitchell and Joan Barker, all of Danville; two daughters, Brenda Richardson Carr of Halifax and Louise Richardson Martin of Saxe; one son, Robert Carson Richardson of Gretna; 10 grandchildren, Hampton Eugene Blanks and wife Julie of South Boston, Theresa Blanks Nester and husband Frankie of Danville, Paul Anthony Blanks of Vernon Hill, Laura Blanks Seamster and husband Clay of Halifax, Rex David Noblin of Scottsburg, Jason Thomas Comer and wife Ashley of Cluster Springs, Roxanne Franklin Loyd and husband Jerry of Scottsburg, Wanda Dale Franklin and husband Steven of Halifax, Penny Franklin Lacks and husband Devin of Roxboro, N.C., Shirley Richardson of Charlotte Court House; 15 great-grandchildren, Amanda Sue Vaughan, Douglas Ronald Stillwell, Casey Lanier Lacks, Heather Elaine Loyd, Christopher Dale Loyd, Taylor August Anderson, Adam Nester, Riley Jackson Seamster, Alex Blanks, Toni Denise Blanks, Samantha Jean Blanks, Cameron Comer, Kemper Comer, Bradley Comer, and Dillan Noblin; one great-great-grandchild, Dylan Thomas Smith.

 A memorial service for Mrs. Dollie Weatherford Richardson was held for immediate family only at Ellis Creek Baptist Church Cemetery at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012.

 The family will receive friends anytime at the home of her daughter, Brenda R. Carr, 4111 Clays Mill Road, Halifax.
