Mrs. Inez Jennings Parker of South Boston died Monday, Sept. 3, 2012, at her home. She was born in Halifax County on Oct. 24, 1919 and was 92 years old. She was the daughter of the late James Thomas Jennings and the late Hattie Epps Jennings and married to the late Henry Cole Parker.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church and a retired school teacher.
Mrs. Parker is survived by one son, Henry Lloyd Parker of South Boston; one grandson, Colin McArthur of Portland, Ore. one son-in-law, Neil McArthur of Homer, Alaska; and a number of nieces and nephews.
One daughter, Harriett Lee Parker; one sister, Venessia J. Roberts; and three brothers, J. Lowell Jennings, William Wesley Jennings and Amos W. Jennings, also preceded Mrs. Parker in death.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dave Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Halifax Baptist Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home and other times at her home, 448 Crescent Drive, South Boston.
