Richard Harrison Blanks Jr. 82, husband of Winnie Smith Blanks, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2012, at his home. Harrison was born October 16, 1929 to the late Richard Harrison Blanks Sr. and Lucille Daniel Blanks.
A graduate of Clarksville High School with the Class of 1947, he was the owner and operator of Harrison Blanks Wheel Alignment for 50 years; a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter # 145; Twin Rivers Masonic Lodge # 338; and a charter member of the Clarksville Ruritan Club. Mr. Harrison was a member of Clarksville Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Randall officiating. Masonic rites will be held following the service. Interment will be in Oakhurst Cemetery.
In addition to his wife of 60 years, he is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Kevin and Mary Blanks of Nelson, and William Kyle and Debbie Blanks of Suffolk. His grandchildren, Lauren Blanks, Tyler Blanks, Katherine Blanks and Kelsey Blanks also survive. His sister, Nell Blanks Nunn, preceded him in death.
