Mr. Dean Anthony Bruno of 1803 Wilborn Ave., South Boston died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at his home.
He was born in Washington, D.C. on Oct.16, 1944 and was 67 years old.
He was the son of the late Doris Nichols Covington and stepson of the late Thomas Kent Covington Sr. He was married for 39 years to Dawn Long Bruno who survives.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, was retired from ABB and was a veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Dawn Long Bruno, of South Boston; two daughters, Carolyn Bruno Tucker and husband Christopher of Richmond and Jessica Gail Bruno of South Boston; one son, Jonathan Eric Bruno, of Richmond; one half-brother, Thomas Kent Covington Jr., of Clarksville; two grandchildren, Lucas Ian Tucker and Sophia Celeste Tucker, both of Richmond.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dave Anderson and the Rev. Susan Davis conducting the service.
Burial will follow at Harmony United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Powell Funeral Home on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and other times at his home.
