Mr. William Eddie Murrill of Jones Store Lane, Halifax died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at The Woodview at the age of 90.
Mr. Murrill was born in Jacksonville, N.C. on July 27, 1922 to the late Mr. William Murrill and Mrs. Pearly Hunter Murrill. He was married to Mrs. Frances Combs Murrill and was a United States Army veteran with 32 years of service.
Mr. Murrill is survived by his wife, Mrs. Frances C. Murrill, of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Frances Ogasawara of Hawaii, Mrs. Emiko Katagyi of Japan and Mrs. Orangel Daniels of North Carolina; one step-son, Mr. John Hill Jr. of Europe; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Louise Moore of North Carolina, Mrs. Rosetta Ladson of New York and Mrs. Belinda Livingston of Florida; two brothers, Mr. Robert Murrill of Castle Hayne, N.C. and Mr. Walter Murrill of Winston Salem, N.C.; one brother-in-law, Mr. Samuel Combs of Halifax; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including the devoted Mr. Royal Washington and wife Mildred of Newport News.
Funeral services for Mr. William Eddie Murrill will be held Wednesday, Aug. 22, at 2 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with the Rev. Jackie Stamps officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery with full military honors.
The family will be receiving friends Tuesday evening from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
