Mrs. Louise Jones Sprattley of South Boston died Aug. 8, 2012 at Berry Hill Nursing home at the age of 73.
She was born in Halifax County on Feb. 27, 1939, and was the daughter of the late Mr. Linwood Jones and Mrs. Catherine Traynham Jones and was married to the late Mr. Linwood Sprattley. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Mrs. Sprattley is survived by three sons, Mr. Joseph Sprattley of Clover, Mr. Thomas Sprattley and Mr. Jerry Sprattley, both of South Boston; one daughter, Ms. Louise Sprattley of South Boston; two step-daughters, Mrs. Phoebe Cook and husband Richard of Alexandria and Ms. Joanne Traynham of South Boston; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five sisters, Ms. Connie Jones of New Haven, Conn., Mrs. Lou Bullock and husband Thomas of Apex, N.C., Mrs. Judy Dennis, Mrs. Sandra Delaware and Mrs. Dorothy Ensley, all of Clover; two brothers, Mr. Alex Jones and wife Goldie of New Haven, Conn. and Mr. Herbert Williams of Clover; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband and parents, one daughter, Mary Sprattley; one brother, Arthur Jones; and two sisters, Linda Jones and Eleanor Butler, also preceded Mrs. Sprattley in death.
Funeral services for Mrs. Sprattley will be held Monday, Aug. 13, at 1 p.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church with the Rev. Marvin Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home of her daughter, Ms. Louise E. Sprattley, 1504 Ridge Street, South Boston. Public viewing for family and friends will be Sunday from noon until 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
