Mrs. Gloria Marie Hill Cousins of 1094 Mosley Ferry Road, Clover died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at her residence at the age of 70.
Mrs. Cousins was born in Halifax County on May 2, 1942 to the late Mr. Jesse Poindexter and Mrs. Mary Hill Gee and was married to Mr. Jesse E. Cousins. She was a member of Sunflower Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband of the home, survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Druisilla Rice of Nathalie and Mrs. Stephanie Reed-Stokes and husband Larry of Clover; two sons, Mr. Michael Cousins of Chesapeake and Mr. Maurice Cousins of Clover; 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her father-in-law, Mr. Jesse J. Cousins of Clover; three sisters-in-law, Mrs. Esther Dismuke of Clover, Mrs. Catherine Greene of Nathalie and Mrs. Gladys Fleming of Richmond; one brother-in-law, Mr. Ricky Cousins of Nathalie; three aunts, Mrs. Gertrude Lambert, Mrs. Clarice Scott and Mrs. Esther Hill; one devoted cousin, Mrs. Alberta Wilborne; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including the devoted Mrs. Eleanor Coleman, Mrs. Hazel Boyd, Mrs. Susie Erving and Mrs. Geneva Hurt.
In addition to her parents, one son, Mr. Rodney Cousins, also preceded Mrs. Cousins in death.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Bethel Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Marvin Bowman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family is receiving friends at the residence. Public viewing for family and friends will be Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
