Mr. William “Bill” Caldwell of 1505 Penick Avenue, South Boston died July 28, 2012 at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 70 with his family by his side.
Mr. Caldwell was born in Naples, Texas on April 9, 1942 and was the son of the late Mr. Willie D. Caldwell and Mrs. Ethel Lee Caldwell. He was married to Mrs. Beverly T. Caldwell. He was a member of Emmanuel Seventh Day Adventist Church, was a United States Army veteran having served two tours in Vietnam, and was a retired electrical engineer at Westinghouse/ABB Inc.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his children, Alexandria, Angela, Andrew and Anthony Caldwell, all of South Boston; his oldest daughter, Mrs. Monica C. Chalmers of Texas; one stepdaughter, Ms. Lateya Moseley of Tampa, Fla.; three grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth A. Caldwell-Young and husband John of Indiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
One sister, Ms. Tina Caldwell, also preceded Mr. Caldwell in death.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Emmanuel Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Stanley Hood officiating. Burial will be at Amelia Veterans Cemetery on Monday at 3 p.m.
The family will be receiving friends at the residence. Public viewing for family and friends will be Saturday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home.
