Mrs. Queen Elizabeth Sims Bouldin of Rodgers Chapel Road, Clover, died Monday, July 30, 2012, at South Boston Manor at the age of 84.
Mrs. Bouldin was born in Halifax County on Oct. 7, 1927 and was the daughter of the late Mr. Henry Emanuel Sims and Mrs. Genevia Spencer Sims. She was married to the late Mr. Silas Roth Bouldin.
She was preceded in death by one son, Mr. Henry Alexander Bouldin; two sisters; and three brothers.
She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Mrs. Bouldin worked for Save the Children and Safeguarding Children’s Future, Inc. for 31 years.
Mrs. Bouldin is survived by three sons, Mr. Ernest M. Bouldin and Mr. Eric J. Bouldin, both of South Boston, and Mr. Gregory L. Bouldin of Clover; four granddaughters; six great-grandchildren; two great- great-granddaughters; one sister, Mrs. Alonzia S. Keen and husband, Leon, of Yonkers, N.Y.; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Priscilla S. Bouldin; three god children; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including the devoted Mrs. Connie M. Carrington.
Funeral services for Mrs. Queen Elizabeth Sims Bouldin will be Monday, Aug. 6, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Piney Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Whitfield Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Church Cemetery.
The family is receiving friends at the residence, 1245 Rodgers Chapel Road, Clover.
Public viewing for family and friends will be Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. at Jeffress Funeral Home, South Boston.
