Howard F. “Buddy” Reeves of South Rockwood, Mich. died Monday, July 9, 2012.
Born March 20, 1942, he was the son of Howard W. Reeves and Virginia R. Reeves who reared their family in West Virginia before retiring in Halifax.
Mr. Reeves graduated from Welch High School in Welch, West Va. in May 1960.
He served in the U. S. Army serving a tour of duty in Korea, and the remainder of his time in service was spent in the states.
He was employed by Great Lakes Steel in Detroit, Mich. for 30 plus years.
Mr. Reeves is survived by his wife of 49 years, Brenda Rice Reeves, of the home.
Also surviving are a son, Jeffrey Reeves and his wife, Cindi; a daughter, Angela Hightower; and three grandchildren, Jeffrey Howard Reeves Jr., C. J. Hightower and Clayton Hightower.
He also is survived by one brother, Tim Reeves, and his wife, Shirley, of Abbyville, S.C.; and four sisters, Melbie Jones, and her husband, Fred, of Andrews, S.C., Sandra Clayson and her husband, Hal, of Los Angeles, California, Myrta Reeves Murrow of Halifax and Lynn Howard and her husband, Bob, of Mesa, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service for Howard F. “Buddy” Reeves will be held Saturday, July 14, at 2:30 p.m. in McKendree United Methodist Church fellowship hall in Halifax.
