Michael Anthony Reaves. age 54, of 348 Wrenn-Crumpton Road, Roxboro, NC, died Sunday morning, June 3, 2012 at his home with his loving family by his side.
Mr. Reaves was a native of Person County, N.C., son of the late Acey Banks and Wiloree Wrenn Reaves and husband of 28 years to Robin Clayton Reaves, who survives. He was previously employed by Eaton Corp., Harris Inc. and most recently for SCM Metals until he became unable to work. He was a member of Warren’s Grove United Methodist Church. Mike was a former member of the Roxboro Jaycee’s, The Optimist Club and The Rocket Club, where he received the Outstanding Member Award in 2008.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Dustin Michael Reaves; daughter, Rachael Banks Reaves, both of the home; six brothers, Robert and wife, Hannah of Hurdle Mills, N.C., Richard and wife Betty, Jerry and wife Robbie, William and wife Janice, all of Roxboro, Willie and wife Kathy of Timberlake, N.C., Bobby and wife Vonnie of Alton; two sisters, Carolyn Odell of Rougemont, N.C., Dorothy Chambers and husband Kenneth of Hurdle Mills; father-in-law, Willie Lawrence Clayton Jr.; two brothers-in-law, Willie Lawrence Clayton III and Sonny Mangum; two sisters-in-law, Sheila Clayton Gentry and Nancy Reaves.
In addition to his parents; a brother, Eugene Reaves; and a sister, Juanita R. Mangum, also preceded Mr. Reaves in death.
Funeral services were conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at Warren’s Grove United Methodist Church by the Revs. Phillip Chryst and Herbert Brown. Interment followed in the Clayton Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Yogi Blaylock, Keith Cozart, Casey Gentry, Steven Gentry, Kelly Horner and Ronnie Peed. David Ayscue, Kevin Chambers, Dwayne Clayton, Alvin Coleman, Elmo Coleman, Brad Cothran, Garland Graves, Dave Griffith, Joe Hicks, Charlie Palmer, Alan Reaves, Chris Reaves, Dwayne Reaves, Joey Reaves, Ray Reaves, Todd Reaves, Bruce Solomon, Marvin Strickland, Donald Walker and Wesley Winstead served as honorary pallbearers.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Warren’s Grove United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1511 Wesleyan Road, Roxboro, NC 27573.
