Charles Edmond Jackson, 61, of Drakes Branch went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 11, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Mary Hazelwood Jackson. Charles was the son of the late Clifford and Clara Jackson of Blackstone. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Naomi Whirley.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a son, Dwayne Jackson (Rita) of Randolph; a daughter, Jacqueline Jeffers of Amelia; a stepson, Robert Watlington of Victoria; a stepdaughter, Barbara Kirkley (Gerry) of Richmond; two brothers, James R. Jackson (Ann) of Goochland and Robert T. Jackson (Lori) of Richmond; four granddaughters, Victoria and Shelby Jackson of Farmville; Alexis Jeffers of Amelia and Emily Jackson of Randolph; four step-grandsons, Justin and Jacob Watlington of Richmond; John King of Pa.; and Jason King of Blackstone,; three step-granddaughters, Tiffany, Chrystal, and Reba Watlington of Green Bay; one step-great-grandson, Brayden King of Richmond; four nephews; two nieces; and four great-nephews. He leaves to mourn, his special buddies, John Rutledge of Blackstone, Gary Traylor of Jetersville, and Ray Hinkle of Keysville; and a host of others too numerous to mention.
Friends and family gathered at Hamner-McMillian Funeral Home in Blacksone on Sunday evening from 7-8:30.
Funeral services were held at the chapel of Hamner-McMillian Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Monday, May 14, 2012, with burial in Lakeview Cemetery.
