Henry Hoover Loftis, 83, of 867 City Lake Road, Roxboro, N.C. went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 26, 2012. Born in Halifax County he was the son of the late Zelda Falson Walker Loftis and the late Henry Wise Loftis. Mr. Loftis was a retired salesman for Smith Automotive. He was a U. S. Army veteran and a lifelong member of North Fork Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Oakley Loftis, of the home; four children, Sharon Loftis Rice and friend Elvin of Roxboro, Henry Hoover Loftis Jr. and wife Starr of Roxboro, Wanda Loftis Jones and husband Chuck of Roxboro, and Rhonda Loftis of Roxboro; one sister, Mary Alice Murray, of Virgilina; 12 grandchildren, W. L. Rice, Doyle Rice, Robin Slaughter, Andy Slaughter, Brandy Bradsher, Kelly Conner, Kaycee Loftis, Rachel Jones, Andrew Jones, Bryan Day, Travis Vaughan and Tracey Vaughan; and 14 great-grandchildren.
The family received friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday March 27, 2012, at Brooks and White Funeral Home, Roxboro, and other times at the home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2012, at North Fork Baptist Church by the Rev. Scott Welch. Interment will follow in Virgilina Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robin Slaughter, Andy Slaughter, W. L. Rice, Doyle Rice, Travis Vaughan, Andrew Jones and Bryan Day.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Loftis, Bob Loftis and Cameron Murray.
