Dorothy Lucille Link Turner, 89, of 3135 Cedar Grove Road, Alton died March 20, 2012 at her home. She was born in Halifax County on March 29, 1922 the daughter of George Norman Link Sr. and Annie Wilborn Link. She was married to Eddie L. “E.L.” Turner, who survives. Mrs. Turner was a member of Cedar Grove United Methodist Church where she was the pianist for many years. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women and was a retired sales clerk for Super Dollar.
In addition to her husband survivors include two sons, Larry D. Turner and wife Pat and Carl E. Turner and wife Wanda, all of Alton; one sister, Virginia Dunn of Alton; one brother, Earl Link of Alton; one grandson, Jonathan Turner; and one granddaughter, Alyssa Turner.
Five brothers, Charlie, Willard, George Norman, Carl E. and Hemmett Link; and two sisters, Alma Shutts and Mildred Rogers, also preceded Mrs. Turner in death.
The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at the home.
Funeral services for Mrs. Turner will be held Thursday, March 22, at 2 p.m. at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church. The Rev. Bonnie Pizzeck will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
