Roger Jackson Eggleston

Roger Jackson Eggleston, age 55, of Chesterfield, died Saturday, March 17, 2012, at his residence. Born on August 8, 1956, in South Boston, he was the son of the late Thomas Brice Eggleston Sr. and Norma Murphy Eggleston, who survives, of South Boston.

Roger was a graduate of Tusculum College and was a tobacconist having retired from Philip Morris USA in 2011. He was a member of Glen Oak Country Club and the Split Tail Hunt Club.  He was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two brothers, Thomas Brice Eggleston Jr. and his wife, Rucker, of Topsail Beach, N.C., and James Edgar Eggleston and his wife, Jane, of Danville; a half-sister, Jamie Eggleston Stowe and her husband, Justin, of Appomattox; five nieces and nephews; and three great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2012, at Townes Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Dave Anderson officiating.  Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery.

The family will be at the residence of his mother, Norma Eggleston at 103 Duncan Court, South Boston, and at the residence of his brother, Jim Eggleston, 203 Parkview Place, Danville.

The family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church, 815 N. Main Street, South Boston, VA 24592.
