Shirley Ann Lacks Wilborne

Mrs. Shirley Ann Lacks Wilborne of 5129 Black Walnut Road, Randolph died Wednesday, March 7, 2012, at Lynchburg General Hospital at the age of 75. Mrs. Lacks was born in Halifax County on Aug. 9, 1936 to Mrs. Thurla Lacks and the late Mr. Thomas Lacks. She was married to Mr. Jacob Junior Wilborne and was a member of Bethel Grove Baptist Church in Clover.

Mrs. Lacks is survived by her husband, Mr. Jacob Wilborne, of the home; five sons, Mr. Larry Lacks of South Boston, Mr. Ronnie Lacks of Clover, Mr. Wayne Wilborne, Mr. Kenneth Wilborne and Mr. Tracy Wilborne, all of Scottsburg; her mother, Mrs. Thurla Lacks, of Randolph; six grandchildren; one step-grandson; two sisters, Ms. Burnell Dismuke of Clover and Ms. Ruth Jackson of Scottsburg; five brothers, Mr. Robert Thomas Lacks of Randolph, Mr. Ben Lacks, Mr. Walter Lacks and Mr. Jerry Lacks, all of Clover, and Mr. Herbert Lacks of Halifax; five daughters-in-law, Mrs. Janice “Liz” Lacks, Mrs. Fontella Wilborne, Mrs. Jeanette Wilborne,  Mrs. Victoria Wilborne and Mrs. Janice Lacks; three  sisters-in-law, Mrs. Geraldine Lacks, Mrs. Hazel Lacks and Mrs. Wallicia Lacks; three aunts, Ms. Christine Lacks, Mrs. Georgia Davis and Mrs. Gloria Lacks; three uncles, Mr. Emerson Lacks, Mr. Harry Lacks and Mr. Marcellous Lacks, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to her father, one sister, Mandy Lacks, preceded Mrs. Lacks in death.

Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Ann Lacks Wilborne will be held Wednesday at 12 p.m. with services at Bethel Grove Baptist Church in Clover with the Rev. William Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the home, 5129 Black Walnut Road, Randolph.

Public viewing for Mrs. Wilborne was held Tuesday at the chapel of Jeffress Funeral Home in South Boston.
