Mr. John L. Clark of Danville died Sunday, March 4, 2012, at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center in Danville at the age of 89. Mr. Clark was born on Jan. 8, 1923 and was the son of the late Mrs. Mary Torian Flemming. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church and attended Mt. Sinai Church of God in Danville.
Mr. John L. Clark is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Hazel Montrose of Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Florence Williams and Mrs. Alma Jane Ellis, both of Winston Salem, N.C.; nine nieces; six nephews; one sister-in-law; a devoted friend, Mr. Clement Stokes of Danville, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Clark was preceded in death by one sister, Ms. Lois F. Roberts, and one brother, the Rev. Curtis Cunningham.
Memorial services for Mr. John L. Clark will be held Thursday, March 15, at 2 p.m. with services at Mt. Sinai Church of God, 718 Jefferson St., Danville, with Bishop A.R. Linder officiating.
