Mr. Lee David Crawley of Hamilton Boulevard, South Boston died March 8, 2012 at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 66. Mr. Crawley was born in Halifax County on Dec. 25, 1945 and was the son of Mrs. Hester Crawley Wilson and the late Mr. Leonard Lipscomb. He was a member of Dan River Bethel Baptist Church.
Mr. Lee David Crawley is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Rhonda Taylor, and husband Bruce of Oxford, N.C.; two grandchildren, Kendrea Burwell and LaBarron Burwell; one great-granddaughter, Khamille; his mother, Mrs. Hester Crawley Wilson of Alton; two sisters, Ms. Hazel McCoy of Clarksville, and Ms. Fannie Halloway of Alton; two brothers, Mr. Ray Wilson, and wife Bernice of Richmond, and Mr. Cornell Wilson, and wife Mary of New Jersey; one step-daughter, Ms. Sharmaine Edmonds, and husband Freddie of South Boston; one step-son, Mr. Sherman Hawkins, and wife Anita of South Boston; five step-grandchildren; one step-sister, Ms. Shelia Brodie, of Oxford, N.C., one step-brother, Mr. Ricky Brandon, of Oxford, N.C., his soul mate and companion, Ms. Carolyn Ballou; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his father, Mr. Crawley was preceded in death by one brother, Mr. Clarence Wilson.
Funeral services for Mr. Lee David Crawley will be held Monday, March 12, at 2 p.m. at Dan River Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Dwight Wilkerson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home of Mrs. Hester C. Wilson, 134 Richardson Lane, Alton.
