Mrs. Lucille Snead Anderson of 1221 Watkins Ave., South Boston, died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, at her home.
She was born in Halifax County July 2, 1927 and was 84 years of age.
She was the daughter of the late George Snead and Gladys Vaughan Snead. Mrs. Anderson was a member of Fork Baptist Church.
Mrs. Lucille Snead Anderson is survived by two daughters, Georgia A. Sizemore, of Halifax and Penny A. Phillips and husband Steve of South Boston; one son, Archie Ackan Anderson Jr. and wife Linda of South Boston; one sister, Lillian S. Rickman, of Dryburg; one brother, Ed Snead, of Dryburg; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Donnie Anderson and a son who died at birth; one great-grandchild; one brother, Ralph Snead; two sisters, Willie Belle Carver and Evelyn Rutledge.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lucille Snead Anderson will be held at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Wellington officiating.
Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
The family received friends at Powell Funeral Home Tuesday and other times at the home of Penny and Steve Phillips, 1213 Owens Ave., South Boston.
